In addition to the twin 75-lap features for Montgomery Motor Speedway’s premier division, the Show Me The Money Pro Late Model Series, Saturday night also saw three local classes take to the track for Fall Brawl weekend action.
The Late Model Sportsmen, Steeet Stocks, and Crown Stocks all participated in the festivities, with the LMS and Street Stock fields holding 71-lap features for their respective divisions.
The significance behind the features being 71 laps in length comes from this year being the track’s 71st anniversary.
Patino Perfection Leads to Dominant LMS Victory
The Late Model Sportsman feature kicked off the night, with Larry Hughes and Wes Willis leading the field to green after the invert. Willis would take the lead early, but eventually fell back, giving Perry Patino the lead.
From that point on, Patino checked out and never looked back in a dominating performance. This victory was Patino’s fourth in a row.
Behind Patino, Chris Wagner and Jeff Campbell rounded out the podium in second and third places respectively.
“My guys just gave me a really good car,” said Patino in victory lane. “We just have so much fun doing it. These 71-lappers are pretty long. They’re fun”

Charles Davis Returns to Montgomery with Special Victory Lane Visit
The 71-lap Street Stock feature was one that tested the might and patience of everyone in the rather large field of drivers.
With the Street Stocks having to refuel roughly halfway through the feature, the cars were brought down pit road for their period of maintenance following the first half of the feature.
After racing resumed, everyone was chasing down the no. 6 of Charles Davis, with Maddox Langham attempting a late-race charge for the lead.
Despite this, it was still Davis who took the checkered flag with Langham following behind. The third and final spot on the podium belonged to Zack Smith.
It was an emotional victory for Davis, who had been sidelined for some time as a result of an altercation a few months back. Needless to say, his first race back couldn’t have gone much better for him.
“Thank the good Lord,” said Davis in victory lane. “Number one sponsor in the world, I promise you. I wanna thank Him very much.”

Momentum Stays with Chris Mitchell for Crown Stock Win
Chris Mitchell, a King of Dixie winner at Sayre Speedway just one week prior, scored another victory, this time in the 20-lap Crown Stock Feature at Montgomery.
Mitchell faced some notable names in the deep south Crown Stock racing scene, holding off Travis Slawson and Ryan Bleich to take the victory.
“Ryan [Bleich] always runs good everywhere he goes, hell of a nice guy. Mr. Slawson and I talk a lot back and forth. It’s fun to run with these guys, great group of people,” said Mitchell post-race.
