New Smyrna Beach, FL — Friday night’s Modifieds of Mayhem feature at New Smyrna Speedway saw another dominant Cody Stickler clinic take place in Central Florida.
The Pinellas Park, Fl. native topped the charts in every session he competed in this weekend. From practice to qualifying to the 75-lap feature event, no one could come close to slowing down Stickler and his crew.
The night of dominance is nothing new for Stickler. Paired with the Rehab Racing Development team, Stickler has established a standard of winning and doing so in dominant fashion.
“We’ve been working at it for a while,” said Stickler. “Johnny at RRD does a good job making these cars fast anywhere we go. I’ve got to give a lot of credit to him for doing what he does.”
Behind Stickler, veteran racer Tank Tucker came home in second. While in good spirits post-race, Tucker made sure to pay tribute to a fallen friend.
“Well, for almost 60 years old and fat, I thought I did pretty good,” joked Tucker before taking a more serious tone. “We lost a friend. I want to dedicate this race to Matthew.”
Rounding out the podium, Richie Smith finished in third. The result solidified a good overall night for the RRD stable.
“The car was really good, just got behind there at the start of the race,” said Smith. “I thought I was gonna get Tank there at the end, but he did what he had to do. Gotta thank everybody that helps me.”
Behind Smith, Matthew Green and Ander Jackson rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth places respectively.
