Montgomery, AL — A pair of Montgomery Motor Speedway’s core divisions took to the track during the ‘Alabama State Championship’ on Saturday.
In addition to the headlining Show Me The Money Pro Late Models and the Modifieds of Mayhem, the Street Stock and Crown Stock classes participated in the fun. Street Stocks held a 35 lap contest, with Crown Stocks running 20 laps in their feature.
Davis Remains Unstoppable as Championship Draws Near
Charles Davis has been on a tear as of late, and things proved to largely be the same during Saturday’s contest. Now in the lead of the championship standings, this latest victory puts Davis in a much better spot when Street Stocks return to Montgomery for their championship event in November.
As the winner of the previous Street Stock event at Montgomery, Davis had to start from sixth and work his way through the field. As he’s proven time and time before, it was no issue to quickly make his way to the front.
“It was a hectic start, but we managed to get through there,” said Davis. “We had fun. I can’t thank the good Lord enough.”
Behind Davis, Kameron Wesenberg and Will Smith rounded out the podium positions. Nicky Pate and Richard McQuint rounded out the top five.

Austin Reeves Picks Up Dominant Crown Stock Win
Everything went right for Austin Reeves on Saturday, topping the charts in practice, qualifying, and winning the feature event. The win helps Reeves with his championship hunt, as the division will hold its final race of the season on November 1st.
“We went P1 in qualifying and rolled a 1 on the dice, so I was able to control it from there. We’ve got one more race left here. Hopefully we get another win but that 8 car (Chris Salter) will be coming.”
Behind Reeves, points leader Chris Salter finished in second. Jonathan Johnson rounded out the podium with a third place finish. Brian Musgrove and Chris Mitchell rounded out the top five.

Racing will return to Montgomery Motor Speedway on Saturday, November 1st with Late Model Sportsmen, Outlaw Late Models, Street Stocks, and Crown Stocks.
