Bobby Santos III Picks Up Montgomery Victory in Wild Must-See Finish

October 5, 2025

Montgomery, AL — The season finale for the Must See Racing Sprint Cars resulted in, fittingly, a must-see finish between Bobby Santos III and Aaron Willison.

Willison, the dominant car of the night, looked to be in control of the lead in the closing laps. However, dense lap traffic and a fast-charging Bobby Santos III meant that Willison’s lead wasn’t as safe as he originally thought.

Coming to the final set of turns on the final lap of the Must See Racing feature event, Santos had made it to Willison’s bumper and had just one attempt remaining at making the perfect move. Powering around the outside of Turns 3 and 4, Santos charged by Willison and took home the ‘Southern Shootout’ victory at Montgomery Motor Speedway in thrilling fashion.

The victory for Santos was his second of the weekend, with the Massachusetts native also claiming victory with the Must See Racing tour at Five Flags Speedway on Friday night. It was somewhat of a weekend of juxtaposition for Santos. While his victory in Pensacola was dominant to put it lightly, his triumph in Alabama on Saturday night came by the closest of margins.

“That was tough, I had to work my butt off,” stated Santos in victory lane. “It was such a hard race, I didn’t know that I was gonna get to fifth, or third, or second. I thought the lapped cars cost me an opportunity at the end of the race, but they ended up giving me an opportunity to win the race. It was a great weekend.”

An understandably disappointed Aaron Willison had to settle for second place behind Santos. The Canadian native accredited the sudden change in the race’s complexion to the way lap traffic played out in front of him.

“We had a great car tonight, just got burnt by lap traffic. It happens every now and again, you’ll come up on four or five of them racing each other real hard. Nothing you can do.”

Third place finisher Joe Liguori had more to celebrate than just a podium finish. With the weekend’s results, Liguori took home his third Must See Racing Sprint Car championship.

“It’s a testament to our team,” said Liguori in regards to his finish. “This has not been a fun day. We had an oil leak, left rear tire blew off, had a fuel issue earlier and didn’t hardly get to practice. Finishing third and to be up here running with these guys is pretty good.”

Behind the podium finishers, Daniel Miller and Dodge Carlbert rounded out the top five.
