Wagner, Maupin, Davis Score Local Division Victories in Montgomery Fall Brawl

September 14, 2025

Montgomery, AL — The Fall Brawl at Montgomery Motor Speedway saw a trio of local classes hit the track in addition to the headlining feature, the Modifieds of Mayhem 50-lapper.

Chris Wagner, Jared Maupin, and Charles Davis all picked up victories in their respective features.

Chris Wagner Prevails in Late Model Sportsman 72-Lapper

Chris Wagner certainly had to work for his victory in the Late Model Sportsman feature. Starting from sixth position as a result of winning the last LMS race at Montgomery, Wagner had to methodically move up through the field en route to victory.

The race saw several comers and goers, with Trey Grimes starting up front by virtue of the redraw. Jeff Campbell and Jeremy Williams led laps in the early stages of the night, with Williams looking like he had the car to beat for most of the feature.

A little past the halfway point in the race, Williams started to fall back, opening the door for Chris Wagner to inherit the lead and never look back. Wagner, the Late Model Sportsman points leader, picked up his fourth victory of the year with Saturday’s Fall Brawl Triumph.

“I did everything I could to keep [the car] underneath me,” said Wagner in victory lane. “A 72-lap race on these tires, it’s hard on them. I did everything I could to keep them behind me, and I appreciate [Campbell] not dumping me. Glad we came out and got us another one.”

Behind Wagner, Jeff Campbell and Brandon Bishop rounded out the podium in second and third respectively. Bill Bethea and J.R. Hartley rounded out the top five.

Jared Maupin Scores Outlaw Victory

The Outlaw Late Models held a 50-lap contest on Saturday, which saw Jared Maupin emerge as the victor after a late-race restart.

An incident in the closing laps of the race involving Jason Furrow and John Burns resulted in Maupin lining up on the outside of the front row for the ensuing restart.

From there, Maupin piloted his machine around the outside of Jeremy Williams, who had been the dominant car of the race. The closing laps saw nobody able to match Maupin’s speed, as he cruised to victory lane.

“That caution was perfect,” said Maupin. “We didn’t have too much for the long run, but I know we had some grip left. We just had to get a good restart, that’s all it was.”

Behind Maupin, Kyle Lowry worked his way up to second. Jeremy Williams rounded out the podium in third, with Cameron Henderson and Dylan Courtney rounding out the top five.

Charles Davis Continues Street Stock Dominance

Charles Davis has been unstoppable in Street Stock competition throughout the summer months, and that has yet to change after Saturday’s Fall Brawl.

Davis had a target on his back, with Chestnut Creek Materials sponsoring a $500 bounty on Davis. Despite the additional prize if anyone were to win and beat Davis, it was all for naught.

Davis started sixth as a result of winning the last Street Stock event at Montgomery, but quickly worked his way to the front, piloting his no. 6 Street Stock to victory lane at the conclusion of the 35-lap feature.

“Wow, that was a heck of a run,” said Davis. “Everyone loved the bottom tonight so I had do make a pass in the infield, sorry about that. We had a little bad luck in the first part of the year, but you can’t keep this old dog down.”

Behind Davis, Tre Huff and Daniel Jacks completed the podium. Dawson Parker and Bubba Deaton rounded out the top five.
