Montgomery, AL — Coming off of a similar performance at Five Flags Speedway just one month ago, Jaxon Bishop scored his second consecutive Modifieds of Mayhem win with his victory in the Fall Brawl at Montgomery Motor Speedway.
Bishop carved his way through the field after starting in the sixth position by virtue of the redraw. It appeared to be easy work for Bishop, who found himself challenging Jeremy Williams for the lead within the first ten laps.
Unfortunately for Williams, a spin in Turns 3 and 4 would gift Bishop the lead. Following the ensuing restart with 38 laps remaining, Bishop never looked back, with the Toney, Al. native scoring his second Modifieds of Mayhem victory in his second start with the series in 2025.
Bishop attributed his success to his father, Casey, and all the work behind the scenes that involved building this Modifieds of Mayhem chassis.
“It’s not the driver, it’s all my dad,” said Bishop. “The fact that he built us this race car and we’re doing this right now proves a lot to him. He never got this chance that I have now.”
Second place finisher Richie Smith, a regular competitor in Florida Modified competition, ultimately finished second in the Fall Brawl, his debut race at Montgomery Motor Speedway.
“We’ve never been here before, didn’t really know what to expect. Gotta thank the fans, gotta thank Stan [Narrison] for putting this stuff on, thank all my guys that help me, my wife, Johnny at RRD.”
Texas racer Jared Maupin rounded out the podium in third.
“We had a good hotrod,” said Maupin. “Just tried to be as clean as I could without moving anybody. Wish we could’ve capitalized a little better.”
Behind Maupin, Ander Johnson and Hunter Evans rounded out the top five in fourth place and fifth place respectively.
The next stop for the Modifieds of Mayhem will be Champions Night on Saturday, October 18th, when the series will return to Montgomery for the final points-paying event of the season. The night will also feature racing from Pro Late Models, Street Stocks, and Crown Stocks. The event will be streamed live on Racing America.
