Snowball Derby Entries to Open on July 1st, Incentive Package Announced for Early Entrants

Pensacola, FL — It’s almost time to start preparing for the biggest Super Late Model race of the year, the prestigious Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway.

With the 58th annual rendition of the race taking place on December 7th, 2025, a host of early incentives have been put in place by track officials. Drivers who file an early Snowball Derby entry between July 1st and August 1st will be entered into a drawing for a prize package worth over $5,000.

The package includes:

  • 1 Simpson firesuit
  • 1 pair of Simpson gloves
  • 1 Holley carburetor
  • 1 complete MSD ignition tray
  • 1 Hans IV Device
  • 1 set of Hoosier tires
  • 25 gallons of Sunoco race fuel

The lucky winner of this prize package will be announced on Wednesday, December 3rd prior to the Snowball Derby qualifying draw.

In addition to the aforementioned qualifying draw, Wednesday, December 3rd will be host to the official start of Derby Week. Hauler parking and a pit party will both take place that day.

On-track action for Snowball Derby competitors begins on Thursday, December 4th. Super Late Models and Pro Late Models will have a day of practice, followed by features that night for the Sportsman, Pure Stock, and Pro Truck classes.

Friday, December 5th a.k.a. Fast Friday will again feature practice for both Super and Pro Late Model classes in addition to the always-intense Super Late Model qualifying session for the 58th Annual Snowball Derby. The top 30 Super Late Model competitors will lock themselves into the field that evening. Friday night’s features will include the Modifieds of Mayhem 75-lapper and the Crown Stock Invitational.

Saturday, December 6th will see qualifying for the Snowflake 100 Pro Late Models, as well as last chance races for the Pro Late Models and Super Late Models. Saturday night concludes with the 22nd Annual Allen Turner Snowflake 100 along with a feature for the Outlaw Late Model class.

The week’s festivities all culminate in the biggest day of the year, Sunday, December 7th. Sunday’s running of the 58th Annual Snowball Derby promises to be yet another historic rendition of the famed short track event.
