Pensacola, FL — The story has remained the same for quite a few weeks now; Cole Butcher cannot be stopped.
The Wilson Motorsports driver picked up his third Super Late Model victory in four weeks, doing so in dominant fashion like he did time and time before.
This week, however, it was a short and sweet cruise to victory lane for Butcher. Coming off victories in races of 200 laps or above, Cole Butcher only had to compete for 100 laps in Friday night’s Pensacola Sports 100 at Five Flags Speedway.
The event was the fourth race of the Southern Super Series season where Butcher leads the points.
“I can’t thank Wilson Motorsports enough,” said Butcher in victory lane. “We tried some stuff when we unloaded, but we went back to what we know. It’s good to be back.”
Despite the smooth sailing that Butcher showcased en route to a margin of victory well over two seconds, he acknowledged lap traffic for making things interesting from time to time.
“It’s really tough, especially passing some of the lapped cars. In this car, clean air means everything. I can’t thank the competitors enough for putting on a clean race, and we’ll look forward to Mobile tomorrow.”
Carson Brown finished in second, with Jackson Boone rounding out the podium in third.
Butcher and Brown, along with a majority of Friday’s field at Pensacola, will race at Mobile International Speedway on Saturday in part two of the weekend’s Gulf Coast Doubleheader for the Southern Super Series.
