Pensacola, FL — The next portion of the Southern Super Series schedule is set to unfold this weekend with the Gulf Coast Doubleheader.
The weekend will see action kick off at Five Flags Speedway on Friday, April 11th. The regional Super Late Model tour will then venture across state lines to Mobile International Speedway on Saturday, April 12th.
This “Pit Pass Preview” story will provide race fans with a plethora of valuable information to know ahead of this Deep South doubleheader weekend.
Entries
While a full entry list has yet to be shared as of the time of this story’s release, a lot of heavy hitters have announced their intentions to participate in the Gulf Coast Doubleheader.
The Wilson Motorsports trio of Cole Butcher, Gavan Boschele, and George Phillips have all announced their entry in the weekend’s events.
Super Late Model mainstays, Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse, Matt Craig, and Jake Finch have also been announced as entries in the doubleheader.
Other entrants who will participate over the course of the weekend include Carson Brown, Jackson Boone, and Dustin Smith.
Weekend Schedule
The action begins in Pensacola on Friday, with practice beginning at 2:30 in the afternoon. Qualifying is scheduled for 7:00, with racing beginning at 8:00.
Joining the Southern Super Series competitors will be the Pure Stock, Crown Stock, and Sportsman divisions.
On Saturday, the festivities at Mobile kick off with practice at 2:00. Qualifying is slated for 6:00 that evening with racing at 7:00.
Many of the same local competitors will also make the trip to Mobile, with the Legacy, Crown Stock, and Pure Stock classes participating in Saturday’s action.

Season Standings
Heading into the weekend, Cole Butcher sits atop the Southern Super Series standings by a margin of just one point over his Wilson Motorsports teammate, Gavan Boschele.
Stephen Nasse sits in third position, 20 points behind Boschele. Nasse has company, with rival racer Bubba Pollard hot on his trail in fourth, just two points behind Nasse.
Colby Howard rounds out the top five in the standings. The full top ten in series standings can be found below.
