Clanton, AL — The wheelmen of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will roll through Central Alabama on Saturday, February 22nd for a chance to take home $5,000 at Buckshot Speedway.
It’s not an unfamiliar destination for the series, with the historic tour making its way to the Clanton, Alabama facility on four previous occasions.
The storied dirt Super Late Model tour is not all that the weekend has in store, however. A slew of local classes will be in attendance, with more information on that below.
This story serves as a “Pit Pass Preview” with all the information you need to know before the Southern All Stars hit the track at Buckshot Speedway.
Divisions Competing
While the headlining Super Late Models compete for $5,000, a plethora of local racing classes is slated to compete at Buckshot as well.
602 Late Models, Open-Wheel Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Crown Vics, and Buzz divisions will all hold features on Saturday night.
Weekend Schedule
The one-day show on Saturday, February 22nd kicks off its straightforward schedule with gates opening at 2:00 p.m. local time.
Grandstands open at 3:00, with a drivers meeting at 5:30. Hot laps begin at 6:00, with racing action to follow.
Series Standings
Cory Hedgecock comes into the weekend sitting atop the Southern All Star points standings. Hedgecock took home the victory in the season opener at I-75 Raceway in Tennessee.
Behind Hedgecock, Billy Franklin and his son, Kendall Franklin sit in second and third respectively.
