Bubba Pollard Continues Cordele Dominance, Wins SuperFest Race 1

February 1, 2025

Cordele, GA — There simply is no denying Bubba Pollard’s prowess at Cordele Motor Speedway. The fastest man in South Georgia showed up yet again and took home the win in the season opener for Cordele’s SuperFest series as well as the season opener for the UARA National Tour.

This win is the second victory for Pollard in 2025, with both victories coming at Cordele. Pollard claimed a record-breaking victory at SpeedFest just two weeks ago with the Southern Super Series.

Pollard’s win in tonight’s 125-lap feature came relatively smoothly, following a top five qualifying effort which saw Pollard run towards the front from the drop of the green flag.

Following a yellow for George Gorham Jr. on lap 53, the ensuing restart saw Pollard scrap with young wheelman Jake Finch. The two drivers shared a side-by-side sequence for over ten laps, with Pollard ultimately coming out on top.

Stephen Nasse settled for second, with Jake Finch following close behind in third. Buddy Shepherd and Colin Allman rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth respectively.

“We had a good race car. It’s good when you can race around good people and run side-by-side like that and not have to worry about getting pinched in the wall or tearing up your race car,” said Pollard in victory lane. “I enjoy racing with Jake [Finch].”

“We had a lot more grip tonight,” acknowledged Pollard. “We were turning good during the day, and these American Racer tires, they tend to grease up the race track and rubber up. I was really just trying to move around, I didn’t really feel comfortable around the top where I normally am.”

“I love this place. It’s racey, it’s fun, and I enjoy it. Thanks to the Noland’s, UARA, everybody.”

Stephen Nasse’s story was typical for the Pinellas Park, Florida native. Nasse started the race mid-pack, but eventually found himself in second position behind Pollard in the closing laps.

“[Pollard] was good. I needed a little more turn and a little more drive. I felt better about the car than I did in practice and in the last race here. We’re definitely making gains, but we were just trying to beat ‘em tonight and didn’t quite get there.”

Young gun Jake Finch started on pole and led the opening segment of the race before falling to Bubba Pollard around the halfway mark.

“Obviously, [Pollard] knows his way around this place pretty well. Happy to be able to lead some laps and sit on the pole. Just getting a little frustrated with second and third, you know. I’ll just try to be better next time.”
