Pit Pass Preview: Cordele SuperFest Race 1

January 31, 2025

Cordele, GA — While Cordele Motor Speedway hosted the start of the ASA Southern Super Series season just a few weeks ago at SpeedFest, this weekend promises the start for a pair of different Super Late Model seasons.

In addition to the headlining Super Late Models, a quintet of local racing divisions will also hit the track for the official start of the Cordele Motor Speedway 2025 season.

Here is your “Pit Pass Preview” with the all the information you need to know.

Sanctioning Bodies/Series

This weekend’s racing at Cordele Motor Speedway marks the start of both the UARA National season as well as the start of SuperFest, a Super Late Model track championship akin to the Blizzard Series at Five Flags Speedway.

This weekend is the first of five SuperFest points paying shows, with the season concluding at the World Crown 300 in October. This weekend won’t be the only time that SuperFest falls under the UARA umbrella, as all five SuperFest races will be a part of the UARA National schedule.

Divisions Competing

With Super Late Models highlighting this show and much of the asphalt short track world, the local classes can often fall by the wayside. This weekend, however, a strong lineup of local divisions will join the Super Late Models at Cordele.

Pure Stock, Enduro, and Mini Stock classes will hit the track in addition to the Melon Man Pro Trucks and Outlaws. The Outlaw division will hold the Ray Ingle Memorial 54, making that feature a big deal among the local ranks.

Another thing to note is that Melon Man Pro Trucks recently acquired a series sponsorship for 2025 from NASCAR Cup Series driver Ross Chastain, hence the Melon Man branding.

Event Schedule

Friday, January 31st will see Super Late Model tech and open practice in the evening, however it’s Saturday, February 1st that will hold all of the notable racing action.

Saturday practice kicks off at 2:00 p.m., qualifying at 5:00 p.m., and racing at 6:00 p.m. The full weekend schedule can be found below.

Entry List

The Super Late Model field features notable names in the scene. Pollard, Nasse, Finch, Hinde, Sauter, and more have proven to be contenders for victories at the South Georgia facility.

Bubba Pollard in particular comes off of a record-breaking victory at SpeedFest a few weeks ago at Cordele. Michael Hinde won the last big event at the track before SpeedFest, taking home the victory in last year’s World Crown 300.
