In a night that saw a wide range of fun and action at Montgomery Motor Speedway, it was Dave Sherman who stood above the rest after winning three of the night’s features.
It all started for Sherman with his victory in the Turkey Trot Enduro, the roval-style road course race around the grounds at Montgomery.
The Enduro started off with Sherman being enthralled in a tight battle for the lead with Blake Wilson. After Wilson’s early exit from the Enduro due to an incident in the Turn 2 chicane, Sherman had new opposition: his son, Carson.
Carson Sherman rallied to second place but ultimately fell one spot short to his father, finishing in the runner-up spot. Steve Sidner rounded out the Enduro podium in third position.
“That was a fun race,” said Sherman. “That was the first time I picked up a win in one of those. Hopefully we can do them again and have a few more cars.”
“And it was extra special because my son Carson got to start his first full-size car race. He races Bandoleros normally, and to have him run second makes it even sweeter.”

Second Victory for Sherman Comes in School Bus Photo Finish
The Enduro victory did not see the end of Sherman’s night, but only the beginning.
The School Bus race featured three buses that can be found around the grounds of Montgomery Motor Speedway, with Sherman racing alongside Austin Duke and track manager Stan Narrison.
The race resulted in a photo finish between Sherman’s white bus and Duke’s “Petty blue” no. 43 bus. Narrison rounded out the podium in the black no. 3 “Intimidator” bus.

Sled Race Sees Sherman Complete the Hat Trick
The third feature of the evening, the Sled Race, featured a couple of the same cars that ran in the Enduro, only with metal plates welded to the rear wheels of the FWD vehicles.
The plates led to plenty of skids and spins, but the inevitable Dave Sherman yet again claimed the victory.

Salter Holds off Mitchell for Crown Stock Victory
The Crown Stock feature saw the biggest field of the night competing in the division’s 2024 season finale race at Montgomery.
The race was one which saw the cars from the Salter stable jump out to an early and dominant lead, but Chris Mitchell had something to say about that.
Charging through the field, Mitchell found his way to the rear bumper of Chris Salter’s car. Despite the late-race charge, Salter held off Mitchell to score the victory. Adam Salter rounded out the podium in third position.
