November 14, 2024
The final event of the year at Montgomery Motor Speedway will see a plethora of local racing action, including a roval style Enduro Race, a Crown Stock feature, and more.
This latest “Pit Pass Preview” will cover all you need to know for this weekend’s Turkey Trot Enduro.
Weekend Schedule
It’ll be a condensed evening of racing at Montgomery on November 16th, with pit gates opening at 2:00 pm, with a drivers meeting at 3:30 pm. Drivers will immediately jump into racing action with features beginning at 4:00 pm.
In addition to the highlight of the weekend, the Turkey Trot Enduro, the night will feature a Bus Race, a Sled Race, a Crown Stock feature, and a Powder Puff feature for the ladies to close out the night.

Course Layouts/Event Formats
The Turkey Trot Enduro is a roval style race with front-wheel drive cars, meaning that the course will be a combination of both the oval surface and parts of the infield roads and pits at Montgomery Motor Speedway. Whoever leads the Enduro field at the conclusion of the 45-minute time period will be deemed the winner.
The 5-lap Bus Race will feature some of the school buses that can be found around the speedway. Usually, these vehicles can be seen making appearances during track drying in the event of rain, but they’re known to break out and race on occasion.
The 5-lap Sled Race features the same front-wheel drive vehicles that can be found in the Enduro, but with modified rear wheels with plates, or “sleds”, attached. The sleds can cause the cars to be a handful to control, leading to several spins, skids, and drifts. In years past, the layout for the sled cars featured them racing up the frontstretch before turning around at the exit of pit road, coming back down pit road and turning back onto the frontstretch at pit entry.
The Crown Stock feature will be a straightforward feature for one of the area’s fastest growing local classes. The Crown Stocks will hold a traditional race format around the MMS oval for 25 laps.
Finally, the Powder Puff race will feature the special ladies of short track racing, the significant others of the local competitors. Their feature will be 10 laps long and will conclude the night’s racing action.
