Carson Brown Claims 2024 5 Flags Pro Late Model Championship, Jake Finch Scores Race Win

September 29, 2024

The four-race-long Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series at 5 Flags Speedway has seen a few different drivers have success, but the story of the year has been Anthony Campi Racing’s young gun driver, Carson Brown.

Brown, who piloted his machine to a second place finish last night in Pensacola, scored enough points to be crowned as a track champion with the Allen Turner Pro Late Models.

Brown bested his championship rival Seth Christensen. Christensen finished third, one spot behind where the champion finished.

“We started off okay, started on the outside because of the dice roll. We ended up falling back to third. First and second kinda just took off and I didn’t really want to be a part of it.”

“The right front started coming apart on lap 71. I don’t know exactly why or what happened there, but I know it did happen last race too.”

Brown stated that even though he and his ACR team have been fast all year, this championship wasn’t exactly something they had the intent to chase at the start of 2024.

It just worked out that way.

“Maybe Campi knew, but I didn’t really know about [the championship standings], and then last race we were like ‘hey we’re only seven points down and we can do this.’”

“We just went to work. I didn’t really think about it much, but yeah, we started doing for it in the second to last race. Knew if we could just qualify good that we’d be good.”

Jake Finch ended up being victorious in the season finale race, piloting the no. 18 Ronnie Sanders Racing machine to victory lane once again in 2024, but now for the first time at 5 Flags.

“Super glad to be a part of this Ronnie Sanders team,” said Finch in victory lane. “I had a really good race car. I figured if my Dawgs were going to play terrible, I could come out here and win. I thought that makes up for it a little bit.”
