Dylan Beaver dominated this past Saturday’s Interstate Welding 602 Showdown at Sugar Creek Raceway.
Beaver shot to the top of the scoring pylon in qualifying, barely edging out the no. 44 of Bobby Elkins by .002 seconds. This close qualifying battle would stay just as competitive as the drivers headed into the 25 lap main event.

Beaver pushed the throttle to the floor, gapping the second place car of Bobby Elkins by a car-length early on. But before the action could really start, the caution flag would fly on lap 5. The no. G3 of Dakota Green made heavy contact with the frontstretch wall, causing some damage to the right front wheel well of his car. The field then re-stacked, with Beaver still in the lead.
This restart would prove pivotal for Beaver. Seth Wimpey and Bobby Elkins applied the pressure to Beaver, with both drivers pushing their way towards the top spot but ultimately coming up short. Beaver would claim the checkered flag over Wimpey by half a second, sealing his weekend domination of the Interstate Welding 602 division.

“We decided to try something new for qualifying and qualified on the pole and led all 25 laps, sometimes when me and Roger Beaver put our heads together it works,” said Beaver.
“Great clean racing with Robert Elkins and Seth Wimpey. Can’t thank all the people that help me enough for all they do. Roger, Stephen Beaver, Will Adams Patterson, Zack Davis, Asa Murphy. Thanks Chancey Hughes and Cooper Twiggs for y’all’s help as well.”
