In addition to the Pro Late Models and Modifieds of Mayhem tour hitting the famed half-mile surface at 5 Flags Speedway on Friday, a pair of local divisions were also a part of the night’s program.
Both the Pro Trucks and Crown Stocks took to the track for their respective features. The Crown Stocks kicked the night off with their three heat races.
Zachary Curtis frankly dominated to win Heat 1. Heat 2 saw Chris Salter take the victory, and Braeden Kitchen won a wild Heat 3.
With that, the lineup was set for the Crown Stock feature. Zachary Curtis and Doug Thorpe found themselves in a thrilling battle for the lead in the closing laps, and it was Curtis who ultimately prevailed.
Thorpe settled for second and Chris Salter finished in third to round out the podium.
“We came here with old tires. These are the tires we ran that Snowball Derby race with,” said Curtis in victory lane. “We come up here just to watch this great late model racing. I knew when I saw [Doug Thorpe] behind me and [Adam] Salter behind me I knew I had my work cut out for me.”

Treyce Capers Continues Remarkable Season with Yet Another Pro Truck Victory
The Pro Truck feature started with the no. 82 of Presley Johnson charging to an early lead, fighting off Jacob Clayton in the process. However, as has been the case all year, nothing was a match for the pure speed of Treyce Capers.
Capers soared to the front later in the race, with Johnson and Clayton rounding out the podium in second and third respectively.
Capers has been the man to beat all season long along the Gulf Coast, with nine victories to his credit between 5 Flags Speedway and Mobile International Speedway in 2024.
“It’s definitely been a good season. We’ve had a couple hiccups but we’re trying to put all that past us and trying to finish the season off with two championships. Thanks everybody for running clean, that was a fun race.”
