Christensen Continues Hot Streak with Second Consecutive Allen Turner Pro Late Model Victory

May 31, 2024

The road to the Snowflake 100 is now halfway over for the competitors of the Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series at Five Flags Speedway.

The story of the season to this point has been Seth Christensen, who after winning the season opener, claimed yet another victory on Friday to go two-for-two this season.

Christensen, who started second, took the lead late in the race and held off Carson Brown to claim the victory amidst slightly wet conditions.

“I really wanted to be Christopher Bell there,” said Christensen. “Halfway through the race, had a bunch of rain on the windshield hoping for it to start pouring down when I got the lead.”

Rain plagued the start of the evening’s festivities, pushing back the initial start of the race. Some light sprinkles returned during the event but it never got bad enough for cars to be parked.

Christensen also elaborated on preparing for the Snowflake 100, with the Allen Turner Series Champion being granted a guaranteed starting spot in the crown jewel December race.

“We started thinking about that a little bit last night. Just realizing how nice that would be to have a guaranteed spot in case something happens. We’re trying to work towards a Snowflake 100 win for this car.”

Carson Brown finished second, and will now trail Christensen in Allen Turner Series points.

“If we got clean air we would’ve been really good. I thought I did a pretty good job not spinning tires or anything, we just didn’t have much left at the end. I just couldn’t really get back to [Christensen’s] back bumper without getting into dirty air.”

Defending Allen Turner Series Champion John Bolen rounded out the podium in third, rallying from a twelfth-place starting spot to do so.

“Everything’s starting to come together with the car. Motor was a little down all weekend. Kinda set us behind in qualifying, but we knew we had a good car in race trim. Needed it to fall the way it did.”

Augie Grill, who set the fast time in qualifying, rolled a five for the invert, but quickly stormed to the front, leading the race until a broken Panhard bar bracket ended his night on lap 70.

“Disappointing, feel like I had the car that probably could have won the race. That’s how it goes. [The Panhard bar bracket] is not something we keep our eye on on a regular basis, but we’ll get it fixed and come back.”
