On Sunday, drivers from all across the world converged upon the foothills of the Appalachians for day two of the CKNA AMP Takeover. Day two was not just another day of racing; it was a culmination of countless laps, testing, and long nights at the track. In this article, we will be diving into all of the excitement, thrills and even some spills. Let’s start with the day two action in the Medium Division.
The Medium Division had a slew of drivers, 29 in total. Caleb Gafrarar (704) would lead the field to green in the Pre-Final race. Gafrarar would set the best time in qualifying with a blazing fast time of 1:00.187. Alongside him would be Colin Aitken (11) who had a strong showing in Saturday’s events. Aitken would qualify with a time of 1:00.504, just .317 seconds behind our polesitter.

Lap 1 would see three-wide action entering the double apex of turn 6, or as we know it, “The Kink.” Gafrarar would lead the first green flag lap with zero incidents. Owen Lloyd (119) would be in a fierce battle for second with two other drivers, Collin Warren (211) and Aitken. All three drivers would battle back and forth, swapping positions for the whole race. Lloyd would manage to best his competitors and win the Pre-Final, starting on pole for the Final.
Your “Liqui Moly Biggest Mover” of the race was “Kitty Attack” Ryan Curtin (37), moving up nine positions for an overall finish of eleventh. The “City Line Nutrition Fastest Lap” of the race belonged to Caleb Gafrarar (1:00.452). The action really started to heat up in the final race of the weekend.
Lloyd would lead the field of 26 (3 DNF’s in the Pre-Final) to green. Lap 1 had some very close moments entering turn 3, with drivers two and even three-wide. A battle for the lead would commence early into the race. Grafarar would challenge Lloyd, overtaking him and pushing him back to third place. Grafarar would lead a freight train of twelve karts into the fourth lap.

Warren and Grafarar would battle into turn 14, with Warren taking the point away. After multiple crossovers, the field would be set for the next few laps. Lloyd would be your leader at the halfway point, and would swap positions multiple times within the top three. The top three would pull away with a five-kart gap on lap 10. Lloyd would lead the field to the white flag, followed by Warren and Grafarar.
The trio would navigate the 16-turn course, swapping back and forth with no clear advantage to either of the competitors. Turn 14 would add some excitement, as Grafarar would turn his kart into a lawn mower and mow the grass on the inside corner of turn 14. As best as I could tell, from speaking with officials and multiple video replays, Grafarar was forced off the track. Lloyd would cross the stripe first, followed by Warren and Christopher McKeithan (19). Your “Liqui Moly Biggest Mover”of the race was Ragan Saville (000), moving a total of nine positions to finish 12th overall. Your “City Line Nutrition Fastest Lap” goes to Collin Warren (211) with a fast lap of 1:00.535. You can find the results for all of this weekend’s events at the RaceHero app or website.
