Bubba Pollard has already won two marquee Super Late Model events in 2024 at Speedfest and the Clyde Hart Memorial, and he proved that the success will just keep coming with his triumph in the Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway.
Pollard, who turned 37-years-old on the day of this year’s Rattler, took home some birthday presents that others would give anything to have. This win was Pollard’s third in the event’s history, and his second in a row. Pollard was also awarded his 2023 championship trophy for the UARA (formerly SRL) National Series.

After starting mid-pack, 13th to be exact, Pollard quickly entered the top 10, methodically gaining positions throughout the first half of the race. After joining the top 5 shortly before the halfway break, Pollard’s crew used the controlled caution period to make the eventual race-winning adjustments to the car.
The second half of the race saw Pollard battle for the lead with the likes of Jett Noland and Jake Finch, with Pollard taking the lead from Noland with 64 laps remaining. From there, he held off a strong late-race charge from Jake Finch to take home his third Rattler 250 win.
Finch would have to settle for second, while Justin Mondeik put together a very solid run to round out the podium in third.
“We’ve had a good couple months. It starts with people, having good people,” said Pollard when asked to reflect on his team’s remarkable start this year. “When everyone’s having fun and enjoying being around each other, and winning races obviously helps, when you have all these things, it’s really fun.”
“I just put myself in position in the first 125 [laps] to be where I needed to be when we took four tires. You never know what’s going to happen so you need to put yourself in position as quick as you can.”
