Jake Garcia scored the victory on Saturday in the ASA Southern Super Series feature event at Crisp Motorsports Park. His win in the Georgia Summer Nationals came after a late-race pass on Stephen Nasse. This victory would be Garcia’s 2nd on the year with the Southern Super Series.
“It was a really good race for us. Tried to save my tires a little bit there at the beginning. Some of those guys were running pretty hard. All in all, just had a really good car and kept the tires on it.”
“Made it a good battle with Stephen [Nasse] at the end. Ricky [Turner] and the guys gave me a really good car – I’m just excited to go back to whatever races we do run this year.”
Garcia’s win was no easy feat, as he had to battle a lot of fast racers. Gio Ruggiero would be the fast qualifier, with Jake Finch ultimately starting up front after the redraw. Finch would fall short to Garcia and finish 2nd.

Gio Ruggiero, the fast qualifier, fought back from an 8th place starting position after the redraw. Ruggiero worked his way towards the front throughout the night to ultimately round out the podium in 3rd.
4th place would go to Pinellas Park, Florida’s Stephen Nasse, who fell through the field after being passed by Garcia for the lead with 19 laps remaining.
Michael Hinde, who led the early stages of the race, fell back to 5th place to end the night. Hinde, Ruggiero, and the 54 machine of Matt Craig were all involved in a three-wide racing incident, which left emotions high after the race.
After Ruggiero’s finish, he’s sure to have extended his points lead over Matt Craig in the fight for the ASA Southern Super Series championship. With only two races remaining, this will be a title fight that will be fun to watch unfold.
